Le Rocher Restaurant
1-5 Hickson Road, The Rocks NSW 2000
Le Rocher restaurant is located on Hickson Road in The Rocks, Sydney. The restaurant is located within the historical ASN Building (Australian Steam Navigation Company Building) spanning level 3 and 4, with an eye-catching view of the Harbour Bridge.
The ASN Building is a five storey warehouse building designed by architect, William Wilkinson Wardell and completed between 1884-1885.
The client wanted a luxurious, sophisticated and intimate design for the restaurant with everything functioning well. The client also wanted to separate the casual and formal dining area onto different floors and to include a bar in each.
The overall design is based on curved and spiral forms. The design of the feature staircase is breathtakingly executed with clear white gloss marblo and classic black marble floor, generating a luxurious atmosphere within the space. The Rifly crystal pendant light by Kartell highlights the luxurious stair design and the elongated, crystal round shape instantly attracts patrons’ attention. The suspended ceiling above the bar explores the beauty of a curve.
American artist Jaison Cianelli's abstract paintings provide a colourful yet sophisticated contrast to the heritage brickwork.
